Ironically, it'd work better.

Today, those administrators would be branded sexual deviants and have no less than a dozen different lawsuits against them and the district just for thinking about it. Hang on, I need to phone up my lawyer before the thought police get here...
No, not thought police. Regular police. Or FBI.
You just wrote a fictional piece concerning sexual misconduct and a minor. I bet that violates some law somewhere.

You couldn't read in Kindergarten? I see why you post the way you do now. I'm truly sorry.

Unless the legal profession has gone significantly downhill, I dare say there's a big difference between being able to read and comprehend a legal document versus "Green Eggs & Ham" at the age of 5. ;)

Worse yet, I did so on the internet. Two strikes against me. Just need one more and I'm sure to get the death penalty.

I can't see the video, but the text of the article linked in the OP doesn't include the accompanying note he signed off of. I am sure it was written and explained in a way a 5 year old can understand.

And, again according only to the text, it isn't like he is being registered with the county as a sex offender. The act and the disciplinary action taken are being put in his record for that school system. Do you really think he won't make the 4th grade honor roll because the principle looked in his record and said "oh, when he was 5, he pulled down his pants!".

The problem with a lot of those sex offender laws is they are rigid. If a boy is underage and his underage GF sends him nude pics, which he then transmit to others, he is guilty of sending child porn.

Maybe judges need to be given broad authority to be lenient and prevent such stigmatizing labels from being attached to people who, in an Internet connected age, won't be able to get away from them for the rest of their lives.

Prosecutors also need to understand they don't have to always push for the harshest penalties possible in order to do their job.

Getting off topic here but...
Overzealous prosecutors... brings to mind U.S. Attorney Carmen Ortiz..

Yeah! Especially the parts when they may end up being abusive parents themselves as a result of the beatings by teachers!!

Best of all, none of that fancy medicine to take care of "chemical imbalances" in children either! You just beat the bad out of them - and watch them grown up into dysfunctional adults. Possibly resorting to drugs and booze! Hell yeah!!

I mean, autism?! Really?! Just a good ass beating and they'll be right as rain!

Seizures?! Boy, you best stop mocking Michael J. Fox and get your butt back to cleaning them toilets!

So, quick, before they pick their own drugs, lets get them addicted to the ones we want?

Isn't it both sad and funny that all the studies and think tanks purporting to figure out why we're behind other nations in educational achievements start out by ignoring that our school systems have collectively become the epicenter of societal stupidity?

A large problem is people tend to ignore the real social issues when comparing just educational performance. Singapore is supposed to be this beacon of educational reform, because they took the US model and made it competitive. However, ask parents of the system how they actually feel and they will tell you it is taking away their kid's childhood. Don't have a tutor by age 10? You're no longer competitive. Mess around being a kid for a year and don't get high marks? You're no longer competitive. It has become so super competitive at the cost of children's "lives"; they can no longer afford (in the attempt to stay competitive with other students) to come home and relax. They have to continuously study. And for what?

If I were in Kindergarten these days, they would have had me castrated by now maybe.

I was caught kissing a little blond girl in the cloak closet in 1967 who later turned into the Captain of the Cheerleading squad as a senior.

At least I had good taste at the time, she wouldn't have much to do with me as a Senior from another school later on, but I had moved awhile awhile then and found out about the other from my old next door neighbor when I moved back to see him and he was still living there.

Was amusing, Barbara Burns was a cutey, :p.

Those are good points, but I think we can balance learning and still let kids be kids. Work hard, play hard, just cut out the stupid.
