I think he's a pretty decent choice.

I'm surprised so many famous people were trying for the part.

I didn't realize it was such a popular show.

Only time I ever watched it was when I'd be home sick from work.

Good. Then they can bring Clive Anderson back to Whose Line, send the show back to Britain, and back to Comedy Central.

Uh oh, here comes the old Quote-Fest Ban Train!

w00t t00t t00t!!!!

Drew Carey

NEW YORK ? Genial comic Drew Carey was tapped Monday to replace silver-haired legend Bob Barker on the CBS daytime game show "The Price is Right." The deal was set Monday afternoon shortly before a taping of CBS' "Late Show" with David Letterman, where he confirmed it.

"I realize what a big responsibility this is," he said. "It's only a game show, but it's the longest-running game show in American television and I plan to keep it that way."

Safe choice. Could be worse.

It will never be the same without Bob Barker. 🙁

Better he makes a graceful exit than get carried off that stage feet first.

Oh no I completely agree. It just won't be the same without him.

I don't think a game show that ever changes from the original (but good) host ever really keeps its status. Something just never feels right.

Bob Barker's pretty cool too. Nice advice for Drew:
His advice for Carey: "Go out there and do that show the way you think it should be done. Don't imitate me and don't imitate anyone else."

Family Feud got resurrected and was quite successful with a couple of different hosts (of course one of them killed himself).

I like Drew but I felt John O'Hurley would have been a better fit for Price Is Right. I guess they wanted to get away from the "old man with white hair" routine and go with something totally different.

They should've used Chuck Woolery who used to do Scrabble and other game shows. Could you imagine David Hasselhoff to do Price is Right 🙂

I can't even remember a single one of the host's name for that show, although I can picture the one guy that did it. I'd say more people know Bob Barker than whoever that guy that people may remember from Family Feud.

I can't ever remember his name (I'm terrible with names anyway) but the Family Feud host that always stuck with me was the guy who also did The Running Man - Richard Dawson.

Bob Barker is definitely the most well known name. Louie Anderson did Family Feud for a while and Ray Combs was they guy that committed suicide (I think he actually did Feud longer than Louie and was quite successful with it).
