Well, they have personalities. Humans have the uncanny (haha) ability to read other people after a period of time to see how their personalities define them. These "cartoons" are made by people with personalities of their own which partly go into their creations. That and the whole thing about "character development" which does, actually, give each character a different personality.
That's not his only power. He's incredibly fast and can leap pretty far. If you don't find fast movement a priority, that's your fault.
