just thinking about the last place i lived, they set up a scheme in which goods or services were exchanged for "points".
they called it a LETS scheme, this meant if you had to get something fixed or something installed ect, you could get it done free and just lose some points.
this also worked the same way if you helped someone you got points according to the amount of time you put into it.

i was wondering if a system like this would work on these boards, as i was reading through the "what do you do for a living" thread, i noticed that with all the people here we have a huge demographic of different tradews and between us we could probably solve/help almost any problem/person.

this is just a thought, but i think it would be cool if it worked.

what do you think?

Exchange everywhere where it says points with dollars in your original post. If you're trying to mean we should move away from a money based society, look at credit cards. You have a certain number of "points" on the card (available credit limit). Once you get something fixed or installed, buy some food, whatever, your "points" go down. At least until you do something good, get paid, and put more points on the card (pay bills).

I like your idea. Now just give me all your money and I'll assign you lots of points for it. The money will help me out and the points will help you out. You can use the points anyway you wish.

er, i don't mean this system is one to replace money, i mean just inside a community.

and also points cannot be taxed
