I saw a hot deal on this itunes copy cat site, this place owns. Its cheap and the music is very high quality and the software app you can download makes everything work great. I love this site!

i used a 1 time CC number to fund it .

many of my friends are using it as well, they all like it too.

go russia!

EDIT: this thread is not about legality because it has yet to be proven to be illegal and the site claims it is perfectly legal so i will go with that until proven otherwise.

i want to use that site so much, but if it's still not legal in the USA, what's the point? Can't you just download off of kazaa, or whatnot?

peace
sean

i hope this thread doesn't turn into an argument about the legality, we already have 1 thread in Hot Deals and one in Off Topic concerning it. pretty much every argument in each direction is posted in those threads.

seriosu that thread is full of conjecture and guess work and it seems no agreement was arrived at so for the moment i will assume its legal as they claim it is.

Oh, i didn't mean to make any statement to bring on an argument. I'm more of asking if there is any benefit over using kazaa..ie you are legally covered some how or some sort of benefit.

well i can get my music encoded in a very high quality 320 Kbps 2 pass cbr wma9 , all the tags are correct, and its very cheap ~$1.50 per album

I bet people like their $20 Windows XP Pro CDs too, don't those websites claim they're legal as well 🙂

Hopefully some bitter linux kook won't turn you in to the RIAA 🙂

(And yes I know you're no longer Locutus of Bill 😉 )

Do they offer lossless compression downloads?

Once your willing to pay for the bandwidth for that, im sure they'll start hosting them ASAP!

I just encoded at 4minute track with lossless, and it was 33megs.

WMA9 @ 320kbit 2-Pass Encoding is rawks!!!
and why is it called ALLOFMP3

Yeah, my CD's are comin in around 250-500 meg apiece. A sacrafice I'm willing to make. But, you'd think someone could set up a business model on this and cash in. Get unlimited bandwidth and dont sweat it.

This is too good to be true. What's the catch, besides the debatable legality issues?

I can't see one.

I just downloaded one of the free albums they have (by amon amarth) and I must say I am impressed. They had 3kb /connections limit, but I am sure that doesn't apply to people who pay.

I will definately try this. Not only are they cheap, but their collection is amazing.

today is the last day to get a 10% bonus on your credit, so if you put $10 in they will give you $11 credit

That's seems large...SHN is supposed to compress 1:2 losslessly and IIRC the rule of thumb for WAVs is 10MB per minute so a 4 minute song w/ SHN should be around 20megs. And I'm sure there are better lossless compression algorithms than SHN.

And as to the legality of allofmp3.com, I'd be surprised if it lasts another six months...

Your second sig link needs fixin'. 🙂
Going to check out that mp3 site now.

lol! A download site based in Russia offering full albums for $1.50 and there actually are a few people who remain unconvinced this is illegal?

Every day, I learn a little something, to prove idiocy has no bounds.

Paid 5 bucks for 500 MB. Its not that bad, especially the albums that they encode on the fly for you. 320kbps lame is what im trying this at.
