Looks like I just found an ATOT member who causes problems at roundabouts. The worst thing man has invested for traffic...ever. I cant stand them lol

One rule: Yield to traffic in the circle. DO NOT TREAT IT LIKE A 4-WAY STOP (that defeats the purpose). Don't stop before entering except to yield to traffic in the circle.
The first roundabout in my town was a HUGE MASSIVE improvement. That intersection used to get ridiculously backed-up every day. Even though the roundabout has proven to be an ultra-effective solution, there are still idiots in my town who complain about it. People seem to quickly forget just how bad it was every afternoon before the roundabout was installed. Probably the same idiots who treat it like a 4-way stop and honk their horn at other people who use it correctly.
I know how to use them as designed. The problem sometime is you have one really busy direction and the other 3 not very busy. So when you come up on a not busy side you have to stop because the busy side is in full busy mode. Car after car after car is coming. So you stop and wait a minute as 20 cars stream thru. Where as if this was a 4 way stop you'd get to go almost instantly after stopping and maybe waiting 3 seconds or so. Then there is the whole 2 lane thing where you can never trust that the idiot on the outside lane is going to turn when they are supposed to. So you want to get out of the circle from the inside lane where you are supposed to, but the idiot on the outside lane decides he wants to keep going around. Now you cant get out or you get into an accident because you turned in front of him (assuming dumb driver who doesnt know how round abouts work..so a lot)
They just suck. They take up more real estate as well. Just stick with 4 way stops. easy peasy, everyone gets their turn in order. Or just turn it into a 2 way stop even and allow the busy street free flow access and the side merge streets can get in when their is an opportunity.
If you don't like the way I drive, stay the fuck off the sidewalk.![]()
Classic bumper-sticker quote - to be sure. Rather tired by now.I believe BoomerD was engaging in motoring-based humor.
Only took 5 posts before OP was blamed.
Yeah. I would yield to the cars regardless. I would stop and make eye contact and give obvious indications that I do not intend to disrupt traffic.

And they love to engage in the aristocratic art of verbal jousting with other auto-ensconced Lords, to wit: "God Sir, I present to you my middle finger!"It's some strange dark magic effect that comes over people when they get behind the wheel of a motorised vehicle. They instantly become aristocrats and Lords of the manor, scattering the peasants before their carriage.
