Looks like a Petco adoption event? Those are dangerous places. About 5 months ago we stopped at a Petsmart for cat food and they were having an adoption event. Didn't go in looking for a dog. But it turns out a damn lab mix adopted us. I told my wife no more dogs, but damn she suckered us in.

Congrats on the new doggie!

Out of curiosity, how much do they charge at such adoption events? I contacted one of those rescue agencies & thought I would be doing them a favor to give a couple more dogs a good home. They wanted close to $600 each to adopt the rescued dogs. I questioned them about this amount & even pointed out that I could purchase purebred puppies of the same breed for far less, and will end up going that route, but thought, maybe I was just dealing with the wrong rescue agency.

their adoption fee was $200. Petco gives you coupons afterwards to buy supplies (which we're about to do). Probably going to spend ~150 save 30 so I'd argue and say net adoption fee = $170. With that adoption fee comes the basic vaccinations + neutering.

We're going to pick him up right now, let him get acclimated to his surroundings, and then bath/brush him out. Looks like he's got enough undercoat to make a corgi-down blanket. Will update this thread after he's cleaned up :)
