I've often wondered if we should simply abolish parties all together, it seems like all we have to show for it is a giant pile of problems with everyone pointing the finger at the other for blame.

If we abolished parties and only allowed campaign funds to come from the government (after a person gathered the requisite number of signatures) I feel like we'd have a much less biased system.

Agreed on the less biased system part, not sure how best to handle campaign funds. No doubt there are a ton of problems with abolishing the (2) party system, but are those problems greater than what we face now? I dunno.

But it sure seems like candidates and incumbents would have to stand on track record and accomplishments rather than relying on partisan bs.
