This is just a rant and a warning to those who ever think of buying athletic supplies from MVP.com

I ordered 5 items on Dec. 2 for xmas gifts. 3 pairs of shoes, shorts, and snowboarding pants. 26 days later . . . NOTHING

1 week after my order the pants were "out of stock" even though they showed up in their inventory on the web. week after that, the shorts were out of stock, then the day before xmas a pair of shoes were out of stock.

So now it's 12/28, and I still haven't received anything from my order. MVP.com is probably going out of business anyways, but still wanted to get that off my chest.

overmars,

Planetoutdoors and MCP.com are merging, and I'm sure this is the reason why they are having problems fulfilling orders. It's unfortunate that it happened to you, but I'ms sure that the companies care much more about staying alive right now, than they do about pleasing EVERY consumer (which is not necessarily the correct strategy). Either way, give them some time. I'm sure they'll be better after the merge is completed.

Ever since I heard that John Elway was going to start an Internet company, I have been secretly (well not so secretly) waiting for it to go under! I hate that guy, especially those stupid beer commercials! I don't know why, perhaps I am just a bitter Cal fan.

Overmars, are you a soccer fan or is the name just a coincidence?

With all due apologies to the above member, I've learned to overlook posts by people affiliated with a bargain site. Their motives are typically self directed, and their "opinions" often end up directing people to their site and money into their pocket.

Anytime somebody stands to gain from your buying decision, there is the temptation to dress up the facts to suit the occasion. In this instance, it's hard to swallow a defense of a truly horrible online retailer like MVP.com.

Suggesting that they're going through transition pains is an insult to the many people who have been burned there over the past several months. I can't think of any good reason someone would try to establish goodwill for that organization, unless of course one was financially incented to send customers their way. Such is the case of an affiliate site like the one mentioned so prominently in some member's posts.
