ive just bought a new 250GB HDD and im not sure what partition i should use, this is basically going to be used as mass storage for my films, Mp3's and Pictures and what not, ive got winXP already setup on my normal drive.

im using Partition Magic 8.5.

Thanks 🙂

FAT32 is more cross-platform (Windows, Mac, Linux), but you have a 4GB file size restriction.

I use NTFS personally since I've never had problems with it and Linux now has great NTFS support. I don't how Macs handle NTFS.

Itll be setup in NTFS but because its not going to have an OS installed on it and im only using 1 partition should i use a Primary, Logical or Extended partition ?

Cheers for the reply mate 🙂
