Just a question about moving stuff..

Yeah, I'm a lightweight as well (very rapid metabolism) and moving my subwoofer (120lbs) requires 2 people. You might just have to hire some movers to help you move the fridge. It will probably cost you 170$ for 1 hr of their time. They usually charge about 70$ per hour per worker and add on their own fees.

Shit it isn't that fucking hard.

Slide it out - you don't freaking tip it until you have room and the proper equipment. You aren't going to try to CARRY it are you?

Uhaul should have one of these:

Put the lip under, strap around the fridge, tighten it down and then have someone help tip it so you can wheel it out and up the ramp into the truck. Leave it attached for the trip into the new place unless you have more heavy stuff to move.

This is best used on fridge/freezer/washer/dryer.

I'm 130lbs and not too strong. I can wiggle a fridge out if I need to. Pulling straight back won't get you very far though. You gotta wiggle it out.

Yep, furniture dolly and some straps make it an easy move.

Being 120 pounds doesn't help.

Also, the older the fridge, the heavier it probably is. How old is the fridge?

And lifting a fridge up in a truck should always be a 2 person job. 3 people are not normally needed. But if you are a small guyu, just get friends to help out.

DO NOT LAY THE FRIDGE ON ITS BACK!!!!!

Why not?
You just need to let it stand upright for 24 hours before you plug it back in.

It can be difficult if it is in kitchen with the "fridge specific" space. Not much wiggle room in those.

Oh maybe crushing part of the cooling system maybe?

Who knows how old it is.

It's called "bracing yourself" - try it sometime. Hell just about anyone will pull themselves along a floor. Most people do not weight more than a fridge.

Dude I was carting around wheelbarrows full of dirt and 90lb cement bags when I was a kid. It's less about what you weight, and more about what you're doing to get the leverage you need, etc.

You really do not understand just how fucking heavy this fridge is and how little I weigh. I was bracing myself, it just DIDN'T WORK.

We were using the little Uhaul strap wheely thing and that helps a lot. :-/

Did you even read what I just said? If not, it's right there. -_-

Wheelbarrow does not equal megafridge movement.

I've moved stuff heavier than myself plenty of times. Including fridges wedged into palces, freezers, washers/dryers.

I could lift the wheel on that wheelbarrow and pull it loaded if need be.
