Just a heads up. Those old bikes you have sitting in your basement...

The one catch is that these types of things typically need to be in really good shape.

I recently sold a 1965 Honda Trail 90. In pristine condition it would have been worth thousands.......(perhaps more than $10k).

In the hammered condition mine was in.............even though it had all its original parts...........it was worth a few hundred. Not bad, but had I kept it indoors for 20 years I owned it instead of in the garage, things might have been much different.

You would be surprised.

Just the PARTS off of old Schwinn's are worth BIG money.

Check the key word "Schwinn" in Ebay and you will be amazed!

People that collect and or want to restore a old bike will bay outrageous amounts of money for the right vintage part.

Now, you're really getting me worried. The 30 year old bikes I drive are both Schwinns. They even have Schwinn approved leather seats. Probably made by Brooks. I think they are both Suburbans. One girls with full fenders, the other is a guys bike. I snagged the girls bike because full fenders are great in the rain.

Lots of old bmx bikes are worth money too. I'm keeping my old pk-ripper in hopes that it will be worth some money one day, too bad its not a loop tail though.
