Just a bizarre thought about cows...

I was replying to a post about energy sources, and suddenly the image popped into my mind...
(We all know that cows produce a lot of methane, right)

Giant towers, like in Matrix, except rather than tapping electrical energy, tubes stuck up cows rear ends, harnessing all the methane for mankind's use..

okay, okay, I didn't get enough sleep last night. I warned you it was a bizarre thought... Just the mental image of it though... 🙂

I own cows. It would be harder than you think. Although I must say I wouldn't object to getting rich by making that idea work.

Thats the main flaw in the matrix. Why would they use humans? If I were the machines, I would have slaughtered all the humans and filled the matrix with cattle. The programming would be easier since all you'd need to do was program a huge green pasture.

there is sewage treatment facility in austin that harvests the methane from decomposing poop, and then sells it

they also sell fertilizer made from the decomposed poop

why do you need the cows? Can't you just have bacteria in a vat fermenting raw materials and producing methane?

Add a few catalists and you've got a self propelled, self fueling, natural gas combustion engine!

They didn't use the humans for energy. They kept them in the Matrix out of kindness.

Well, of course you would. But the image of a 50 story tower of bacteria isn't quite like the image of a 50 story tower of cows 🙂

The entire premise of using humans as an energy source is ridiculous.

What? Oh man, you just ruined my idea about hitched the cars electrical leads up to my nipples to save on gas.

sorry I didn't know cows produced so much methane gas... I don't live on a farm like you do. 😉
