Looks like it might be good :Q

"65 million years ago, a terrible disease plagued the Earth which brought about the extinction of the dinosaurs. In the early eighties, when InGen cloned the dinosaurs, they also brought this disease back with them and it has been present ever since before Jurassic Park (thus explaining the sick Triceratops and Brachiosaur). Now this disease has become fully active in the dinosaurs and they're all getting very ill. When dinosaur carcasses start washing up on the shore of Costa Rica, a team (including Alan Grant) is called out to find out what's going on. They head to the islands to study the dinosaurs and find out about the disease, known as DX. They also discover the disease is transferable to humans and could possibly bring on our own extinction."

Sam Neill AND Jeff Goldblum are in it, too

Scientists are pretty sure that an asteriod/comet took out the dinosaurs... not some disease... and how did InGen bring back the disease? Not to mention, what kind of name is DX for a disease... wat's that supposed to stand for... And it can't bring us to our own extinction if dinosaurs are trapped on the island and we have something called quaratine.

DX = Dinasour eXtinction

Geez... that's corny.

true but seem pretty obvious to me

I thought the 1st and 2nd were only good because they were based on an actual book. The 3rd just had cool dinos 😛.

We're talking about a series of movies that is based on us bringing back the dinosaurs using mosquitos and frog dna. If we can accept that, it isn't too much of a stretch to buy this whole disease thing.

Sounds pretty lame.

We didn't even have any "ancestors" even closely related to us during the time of the Dinosaurs, yet somehow, this disease can transfer so quickly from Dinos to Humans? Right.....

Doesn't matter. A disease doesn't have to be engineered specifically for a species.

I am no expert, but I am pretty sure a disease would have to understand how to infiltrate our immune system first, before it can even try to effect us. That can take many years.

Considering no animals like us (primates) existed during the Dinosaurs era, it would be awfully hard for a prehistoric virus to infect us.
Our immune system doesn't work that way. It actually learns about diseases, then creates anti-bodies to protect us against it. No anti-body, no protection. It's like a firewall, except it lets everything through except what you say not to let in.

Except the virus needs some proteins to bind to in order to enter a cell. And the virus probably doesn't recognize any of our cell surface proteins.

The Lost World book is NOTHING like the horrible Lost World movie.

I saw 2 in theaters....horrible...so so horrible. BUT, it did have some San Diego shots, wee!

Just saw #3 on TV last week. Wasn't as bad as 2, but still wasn't that great. Weak ending for sure.

3 was pretty bad, 2 was worse. It's funny cause the Lost World wasn't a terrible book. In fact, the movie followed the book closely for all of 10 minutes and then it wasn't anything near the same at all. I was really looking forward to the T-Rex "marking his territory" on the jeep like happened in the book 😉

Hopefully this doesn't suck.

Lost World = gymnastic black girls spring from the loins of overly-intelligent jewish white guys!

On a side note, how fun will it be to see a bunch of sick and diseased dinosaurs?

I'm trying to imagine rapid t-rexes running down the street, foaming at the mouth. 🙂
I'll see it. I won't wait in line to see the first showing... but I'll see it, eventually.

Well after you bought the whole REAL DINOSAUR thing then they figured you would go for anyhting.

i'll probably go see it, just to see the plot/story, i was disapointed by the 3rd one, then again it wasn't based on a book by the big MC was it.....

Please no....... just let the franchise die!

The 3rd one was only 92 minutes long. Is the 4th going to be an hour long? 😕

a) There is no official annoucement that it's a virus. Could be a bacteria or fungi.
b) If it has anything to do with the mitochondria in EVERY living thing, we are all fvcked. And yes, there are mitochondria diseases
