It was a beautiful sight with my SeriouScope. The night was clear and the air was stable.

I still need to learn the right way to take neat pictures through a telescope, though.

Well I broke out my weak telescope last night and checked it out.

it was pretty cool!! :)

pretty close to the moon, so it wasn't hard to find. it appeared to be the only star in the sky at the time.

but anyhoo i could see a small bluish-looking ball, and what appeared to be several tiny balls of light around it, which I am assuming were the moons but I'm not sure. even though it wasn't very clear in my crappy telescope, it was still really interesting. i will look again tonight :)

The moons are easy to see with binoculars. Those were definitely the moons. You can tell they are Jupiter's moons because they are aligned.

There's bunches of stuff you can see naked eye too.

Just seeing the Milky Way from a nice dark place is awe inspiring.

Dammit! It's been overcast all day and raining on/off. It's supposed to be nice tomorrow so hopefully the clouds will burn off this afternoon or evening. I need to dig out my 4" telescope for this :D
