Junkyard Wars January 2001 Episode Guide
Season Four: All-American Teams!
FIRST-ROUND MATCHES
HOT RODS
Chicago Fire Vs. Texas Scrap Daddies
Jan. 3, 2001 9 p.m. and midnight ET/PT
The teams embark on a 10-hour build of two completely different vehicles. One team builds a hot rod with a big, heavy engine and the other designs a car with a light body and less powerful engine. George and Cathy get in on the shoptalk to see why the teams went the way they did and interview expert and competition judge Pat Foster, a veteran drag racer. The next day, the teams have three chances to see who can get the best possible time.
BALLISTIC MISSILES
The Young Guns Vs. Three Rusty Juveniles
Jan. 3, 2001 10 p.m. and 1 a.m. ET/PT
The teams take on a growing American pastime, Punkin' Chuckin', in which they must build a machine to hurl an unsuspecting pumpkin at their opponents' castle 50 yards away. And no motors are allowed, so they have to figure out how to store up muscle power to launch their produce projectiles. One team opts to build an air-powered cannon, the other a medieval trebuchet, sort of a sling-type catapult thing.
