Is anyone familiar with the Junior Chamber of Commerce or aka "Jaycee's?" Since I'm unemployed. (Egad *sigh*) I'm looking for some volunteer work where i can network with people, advance my business skills and resume while helping my community. In searching for such opportunies i came across the Junior Chamber of Commerce site. Not being too terribly familiar with them, i was wondering if people were aware of them and as to what kind of a perception they hold to the general public. Any ideas as well as opinions about them or any other good volunteer work for a business minded individual would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

P.S And I know this may seem like a strange question but... Do you have to be a resident of the city? Or can you be a resident of a neighboring city? Unlike the normal Chamber of Commerce, you don't have to be a resident right?

I'm familiar with them. They are quite cool IMO. Often they are less formal and more energetic than the regular CoCs because they are younger. I've always had good contacts with the Jaycees, so I'd recommend them.

edit: although younger they are also extremely professional and business-oriented, just to clarify....
