Dr. Martin L. Levin, of Mississippi State, surveyed 19,000 teens in grades 7 through 12 and learned that the most common months for teens to lose their virginity are June and December. Seasonal changes may affect why these months are so popular.

Dr. Levin states that June is associated with proms and summer parties which appear to influence teens sexual activity. He calls December's high rate "the holiday season effect" and observed that this is when females lose their virginity the most.

Dr. Levin is using these findings to warn parents that these months are the best times to preach abstinence to their teens. He also states that teens who are taught condom use by their parents are most likely to use them.

Gee, and the fact that kids are out of school during these times of year has nothing to do with it.
