I was in Normandy last September, awesome experience seeing point du hoc, Omaha, Sword, Carentan and the museums in Sainte Mere Eglise and Arromanches were terriffic. The American cemetery is a must visit also.

Canada has been running specials since Sunday on D-Day.

Storming Juno was quite a documentary.

I mentioned this to my fiance last night while watching TV. It was strange to me that I didn't see any programming about it at all yesterday. I'm somewhat of a military historian and I remember staying home from school just so I could watch the coverage of the 50th on TV.

too many new episodes of pawn stars to air on the history channel.

Yep...everything "in the now" is way more important than what happened back in the day. Those events didn't affect American lives at all. Paris Hilton and Justin Beiber are far more American than anyone who ever fought in any war.

I'm surprised that The History Channel didn't do a show about alien involvement in the Normandy landings. To their credit, they did do that show about Gettysburg last week.

H and Discovery used to be my favorite channels in the 90s. Now they are filled with Pawn Stars and extreme fishing shows.
