Jumpy Mouse cursor!!! Help

Kinesis

Senior member
This is a most annoying problem. I have an older Pentium II 350 with a ps2 mouse. When in Windows 2000 (suddenly just started happening) the mouse may or may not be in use and the cursor starts wandering over the screen. Slowly, but at least 1/4 of an inch every few seconds.

I have tried different mice, and reinstalled the OS twice. No luck. Is this a dying motherboard ps/2 port? Video card (which is an old 3dFx 3000 pci)? Or something else?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks, I think that may have to be the route I go. I have tried to get the Serial Mouse I have to work, but no luck with windows even seeing that one. Oh well, I thought I would see if the gang here had some ideas.

Thanks
