There is a video from this airport of people holding onto a fence and essentially flying due to the amount of air passing by them.

It's amazing that beach isnt closed. Imagine if a rock got picked up in that and hit someone in the head....

The exhaust from a jet can accelerate a piece of sand to light speed. I am not sure how much damage it would do to a person though.

One of the comments:
"That is a result of in-breeding, build a airport right next to civilian beach? with no warning signs or a wall, brilliant people and the government, maybe Darwinism is right?"

Yeah, if you click on the link there are several videos from different angles in the sidebar of jets taking off from that runway in front of the beach.

Yeah; Princess Juliana International Airport.

EDIT: One of the fun airports to attempt take offs and landings in MSFS.

Pretty sure that jet is empty of passengers and cargo/baggage. Full jumbos won't perform like that, they tend to wallow through the air.

Did have a neighbor, back around a dozen years ago, that flew for Continental Micronesia, out of Guam. He had to come back to the States for ~4.5 months, so he could get type rated for the 757's, in Houston. When he came back to Guam, he told me those things were so amazing, that if a fully loaded 757 (full of passengers, baggage/cargo & fuel) were taking off, and lost one engine, they could firewall the other engine, and have enough power to continue the take off, circle around to dump fuel, and safely land.

And people wonder why I prefer Boeing/MD to Airbus!
