I have been doing this for about a year and a half in Saito dojo in Birmingham MI. Great, knowledgeable people all around easy to train with. Love it so far. I have Gokyu. I train at least twice a week for 3 hours.
I am doing better on the ground that in the regular randori.

Judo takedowns and hip control is great. I just don't like where Judo goes as a sport. I feel like it's too much of a takedown-and-stand-up sport than a takedown and then grapple kinda sport. I did Brazilian Jiu Jitsu for a while and, although the Judo guys had great takedowns, they were lacking heavily on their ground game.

I figured since this thread wasn't getting much traffic, I'd just post my opinion 🙂 It's not mean to be inflammatory or say that any martial/combative art is better than another.
