Nope, I live in Texas where most highways are 65 and 75 or 85 in other areas. Police down here normally allow 5 mph over the speed limit. I have been stopped twice in Texas for going 7 and 8 mph over the speed limit (once with a Va DL and once with Tx DL), in both cases I received a warning ticket. Surprising how treating an officer with respect (yes sir, no sir, thank you) resulted in no harassment or ticket.

Anyone who is in Law Enforcement (LE) or in the court system know that winning is the only goal. It does not matter how you obtain your win. Perjury is rarely to never prosecuted. Basically, to win in any matter, grab 5 or 6 of your best friends, devise a story, and allow them all to lie under oath. Most people will not care about perjury as they know the court system is corrupt and dishonest. The bottom line is: Whoever can get more people to lie for their side will win.

As far as my experiences it's true. I've received warning tickets in 6 states other than Texas from 1990 to 2009 when I was working as a field service rep.

States are as follows:
Wisconsin - 8 mph over limit
Utah - failure to stop turning right into merge lane
Washington - 9 mph over limit
Alabama - 7 mph over limit
Maine - 8 mph over limit
Pennsylvania - 7 mph over limit.

Yes, they did lie. They cuffed him first. Not sure why they would lie, but it seems like they were protecting a witness who tipped them off.

Did everyone forget that he had a pound of weed? He is still at best a mule, and more likely a drug dealer, and now he walks so he can peddle that crap another day.

Can we put a monetary value or body count scale on police lies so we know whether this type of lying is acceptable?

Perjury is rarely prosecuted if you are a employee of the criminal justice system. If you are just "Joe citizen" and they think you comitted perjury they will bring the hammer down on you.

I have found it really depends on the officer. If you are polite most officers will respect that. However they will go from zero to asshole in about 1.8 seconds, so if you step over the line a little.

Right? But pro-statist will swear up and down that a public police force is a must no matter how many cases of abuse you point to in which public policing forces abuse their power with little to no consequence because they know that A.) Their union is all powerful and B.) There is no other competition to provide these services.
