ignore her, her and her kind are in the minority (despite what the "media" wants you to believe)

Never can trust vegans 😉
Why not? At the very least, you know they won't kill and eat you.....can't say the same for all the steak lovers here, can ya? 😛

Hmmmm.... that idea is just crazy enough to work!

My only concern is that the mindless bickering and rhetoric might break down into an actual conversation at some point.

Never happen 😀

doesn't sound like she "judged" you at all. she questioned your choice and expressed her dislike for the current administration.

toughen up Bush-boy. 😉

Geez, post this crap in politics and news next time. I'm sick and tired of seeing political crap in off topic.

If this keeps up I'm going to vote for Ren Hoek as president and Stimpson "Stimpy" J. Cat for vice president. I'd rather hear "Stimpy you fat bloated eeeeeddddiiiooottttt!!!!" than deal with this crap.

I hate people that bring up politics, it always ruins real conversation.
It's different if someone is open to understanding, but people like the girl he met never listen to anything besides what comes out of their mouth.
It does sound like she was just looking for a fight (argument is too civil of a word), but why would you tell a person with an inflammatory kerry pin like that that you were voting for bush 😕 sounds more like they both walked into it.
Yea i guess he walked into it.
When someone asks me about voting/politics I just dodge it.

anyone who publically supports bush is inviting a judgement of their intelligence...

nobody should be judged for beliefs such as gun control, abortion, religion, etc.... but I think that there really isn't any disputing that the Bush administration is a lying sack of crap. Anyone who thinks otherwise has selected memory about clear and immediate dangers to our national security in the form Iraq giving non-existant nuclear technology to terrorists. If you trust in party politics and this complete liar over a solid opposition canidate (you'll find this is true if you do your own research using primary source footage ONLY) to shape the next 50 years of american foreign policy..... something is definitley wrong with you're ability to draw logical conclusions. Domestic issues are non issue this year. You're voting for the future of our children... they won't have a friend in the world when their ignorant, nationalistic asses are completley lapped by China and a federalized EU in 30 years :|

indeed : if that's your only concern, you need not fear! 🙂

eh .. we're the only country where being poor means owning only 1 TV. Really, what other nation has "poor" people that own cars, TV's, DVD players, phones, etc.?

Based on tax forms, my g/f's family would probably be considered "poor". They have 2 cars, a house, TV, computer, DSL. That's rich in most of the world.

I think we need to stop worrying about giving out "free" healthcare and start showing some concern for the people who don't even have access to a doctor.

P&N just called, they want you back asap.
Apparently someone is supporting bush's foreign policy! Hurry!

She apparently watches too much TV. Poverty in the U.S. is make believe. Anybody that needs help/money/food/clothes/shelter can get it if they tried to.

If there are poor people dying on the streets and poverty stricken peopl with broken fingers, government-ran healthcare is the last thing they would want. Poor guy would wait months before they could fix his finger.

Being that I/we live in georgia (a republican conservative state) I was a little taken back.. but didn't say anything. She saw me read the button and was like "Well who are YOU voting for?" (in an incredibly bitchy tone...) so I told her... Bush....

She asked me why I would do such a thing... and I basically summed it up as that I don't agree with nationwide healthcare. It doesn't work in europe, canada, or anywhere else. She kept on antagonizing me about "what about the poor people who are dying on the streets" "What about our poverty level people that break a finger and NEED it fixed"

Last time I checked hospitals (here in GA anyway) cannot turn someone down who REQUIRES help. I mean, yes, they will have to pay for it.... but WTF should I, you, or anyone else have to pay for someone else's crap like that? I s'pose if she wants to live in a socialist country she should farking move.

actually; I was judged. I wasn't going to say a word about the attention-grabbing button; but as soon as she noticed me look at it she flipped...

bleh.

oh... not to mention the fact that OUR countries poverty level does not equate elsewhere. What other country has poor, poverty level FAT people?

So she's not allowed to judge you, but youre allowed to judge her?

that's the liberal version of tolerance. keep your chin up.
Compassionate Conservatism in action. 😉

don't worry, they're not going to outlaw thongs!

vs a guy who will claim he supports every contrary position on every important topic.

JOB APPLICATION

NAME: John Kerry

RESIDENCE: 7 mansions, including one in Washington DC, worth multi-millions. I served in Vietnam (four months).

EXPERIENCE:
Law Enforcement. In my career as a U.S. Senator, I've voted to cut every law enforcement, CIA, and Defense bill. I ordered the city of Boston to remove a fire hydrant in front of my mansion, thereby endangering my neighbors in the event of fire. I served in Vietnam (four months).

MILITARY:
I served in Vietnam (four months). I used three minor injuries to get an early discharge from the military and service in Vietnam (as documented by the attending doctor). I served in Vietnam (four months). I then returned to the U.S., joined Jane Fonda in protesting the war, and insulted returning Vietnam vets, claiming they committed atrocities and were baby killers. I served in Vietnam (four months). I threw my medals, ribbons, or something away in protest. Or did I? My book "Vietnam Veterans Against the War: The New Soldier", shows how I truly feel about the military. I served in Vietnam (four months).

COLLEGE:
I graduated from Yale University with a low C average. Unlike my counterpart George Bush, I have no higher education and did not get admitted to Harvard nor graduate with an M.B.A

PAST WORK EXPERIENCE:
After College and Vietnam, I ran for the U.S. Congress and have been there ever since. I have no real world experience except marrying very rich women and running their companies vicariously through them. I served in Vietnam (four months).

ACCOMPLISHMENTS:
As a U.S. Senator I set the record for the most liberal voting record, exceeding even Ted Kennedy and Hillary Clinton. I have consistently failed to support our military and CIA by voting against their budgets, thus gutting our country's ability to defend itself. Although I voted for the Iraq War, now I am against it and refuse to admit that I voted for it. I voted for every liberal piece of legislation. I have no plan to help this country but I intend to raise taxes significantly if I am elected. I served in Vietnam (four months).

My wealth so far exceeds that of my counterpart, George Bush, that he will never catch up. I make little or no charitable contributions and have never agreed to pay any voluntary excess taxes in Massachusetts, despite family wealth in excess of $ 700 million. I served in Vietnam (four months).

I (we) own 28 manufacturing plants (Heinz) outside of the U.S. in places like Asia, Mexico and Europe. We can make more profit from the cheaper cost of labor in those Countries, although I blame George Bush for sending all of the other jobs out of Country. I served in Vietnam (four months).

Although I claim to be in favor of alternative energy ! sources, Ted Kennedy and I oppose windmills off Nantucket and Martha's Vineyard as it might spoil our view of the ocean as we cruise on our yachts. I served in Vietnam (four months).

RECORDS AND REFERENCES:
None. However, I served in Vietnam (four months).

PERSONAL I practice my Catholic faith whenever cameras are present. I ride a Serotta Bike. I love to ski/snowboard. I call my Gulfstream V Jet the "Flying Squirrel". I call my $850,000 42-foot Hinckley twin diesel yacht the "Scarmouche".

I am fascinated by rap and hip-hop and feel it reflects our real culture.

I own several "Large" SUVs including one parked at my Nantucket summer mansion, though I am against large, polluting, inefficient vehicles and blame George Bush for our energy problems. I served in Vietnam (four months).

PLEASE CONSIDER MY EXPERIENCE WHEN VOTING IN 2004.

I wouldn't mind getting someone into office who wasn't hellbent on making up for his daddy's defeats, however Kerry just isn't the guy. The only good thing I can see coming from a Kerry victory is Hillary not being able to run in '08 while someone like Condi Rice or Colin Powell getting a shot at Kerry after he spends 4 years kissing the backside of the UN and making a mess of things.

sorry, no more political posts, wrong forum, i know...

The correct answer to this question is: Mind your own fvcking business

She sounds like an idiot.

"what about the poor people who are dying on the streets" "What about our poverty level people that break a finger and NEED it fixed"

Haha, this is the US. Poor people can get food. In fact, obesity is higher in lower income levels.

that job application is a piece of right wing shit

john kerry does not own heinz, and does not control heinz through a puppet wife

and serving in vietnam for four months is better than dodging it alltogether like the cheerleader george w bush

Our poor are obese often because overly proccesssed high carb foods are cheaper than good stuff.Case in point, hostess pies 2/$1.00 versus 1 nectarine for 89 cents.Whole grain bread $2.89 for one small loaf versus 4 loaves of big daisy white bread for $1.00.

This is the greatest, richest country in the world, our own people shouldn't go to sleep without having their needs for dcent food and basic medical care met,not while we're busy pumping tons of our dollars overseas.

I'm going to pretty much assume your kidding...

ever consider that one of the reasons we are the richest country is we aren't socialist?

If we all have to pay for someone else being lazy; then we will end up being just along with all the other european countries... that's what makes america/americans successful (the WILL to do better, succeed, GET A JOB)

Not all jobs pay enough to live on and there will always be those who are too young, too old,too physically/mentally ill to provide for themselves.

I agree with the idea that the greatness of a nation should be judged by how it treats it's most needy.
