Well, what if there was a murderer who was on a shooting spree that day and happened to shoot her as well while he was doing it. Can the show be held responsible then? They can't control everything. I wouldn't sue the police if I was assaulted, even though I'm supposed to be protected by them.
True, but what you have going on there is an unpredictable uncontrollable circumstance; there is nothing reasonable the show could have done. In our case however, they could have prevented it easily by making sure the girl was accompanied.
