Does anyone have any opinions on this new system I'm putting together. I can spend more if needed, budget isn't really an issue.

3770k is nonnegotiable it costs me $180... only a fool would pass that up


what's the difference between the 670s?

I wasn't looking for a full on suggestion list so I didn't do that form I just wanted to make sure I wasn't making any glaring mistakes.
 
You pay less $ for a similar product. Honestly, the $10 saved (if you buy from a microcenter) from the i5-2500k is a wiser decision. Why pay extra (even if it is $10) for a feature you will never use in gaming?
 
That Gigabyte is what I would recommend, same price as the reference designs but with a much better cooling set-up. Not to mention it comes factory overclocked for you as well, anyone in the market for a 670 in the US should probably be looking at it.

As for PSU, I'd suggest this XFX Core 850W for ~$101 AR. You don't need an 850W unit but its only a few dollars more than their 650W and nothing else is really in its price bracket for the quality/wattage except maybe the Corsair TX650/TX750s. The TX650 should be able to power the system just fine for now but the 850W gives you a bit of overhead for more power hungry cards later on down the road.

The parts you have are all fine, given that you know that the i7 isn't really doing you any favors.

As for PSU, the XFX Core 850W that krn suggested is good, but I think that the OCZ ZT 750W is a better choice because it's power output is more closely matched to your needs, it's modular, and at $74 AR AP it costs less.

Oh damn, nice find! That is indeed a much better pick, and not nearly as overkill for your system like the 850W is.
 
from the feedback it sounds like that PSU has sound issues due to the fan. I've had trouble without loud fans and bad bearings so I'm looking for a high quality psu.
 
Yeah the Vengeance line isn't what I'd call quality. It's about average, the Samsung RAM is what I'd consider quality.

And a TX850 is overkill, I only suggested an 850W unit because its priced to similarly to its 650W counterpart. The Corsair TX650 would/should be enough for the system in its current form, and that's actually only $80.
 
Could always just run converters, but yes the 750W will be enough. Although for the price I see no reason not to just spring for the XFX 850W as its $1 more and provides you with a cushion should you upgrade the cards to something more power hungry.
 
the 850 XFX isn't modular or else I'd get it no more trouble. Can you suggest an 850W modular PSU? I am willing to pay extra, like I mentioned the budget isn't much of an issue. I looked closer at the corsair enthusiast 850W and a lot of people got DOA PSUs.... do you recommend something else?
 
Okay. Its not good to go around without a budget since we don't really know what we should recommend.

Your system is overkill with a 850 watt PSU.

You will be fine with a 750 for sli 670
 
How about this SeaSonic M12 II 650W, bit pricey at around $131 but has everything you want from a PSU. I'd suggest getting the 750W unit considering the amount you're already putting down but NE seems to be out of stock of those currently, could wait or order through another vendor.
