Hi, can anyone help me out with this problem I'm having? My computer does not associate jpeg files with anything so it doesn't let me open them. The icon is that white box with the windows symbol in it. I had to download Image Browser. I can view my jpegs that way. Is there any .exe file from the Windows 98 CD that I can click on to remedy this situation. Or anything I can download to fix my problem? I tried looking around the Microsoft site (help & support section), but that did not get me anywhere. I was able to open jpegs in the past and I don't know when or why this problem started for me. Thanks in advance.

You can associate the .JPG extension with that Image Browser program by holding SHIFT, and right-clicking on a .JPG image. When you do this, you will see an option called "Open With". Click that, and point to your Image Browser program, then select the "Always use this program to open these files" checkbox.

Thanks! I don't have that ugly un-associated icon anymore and jpegs open perfectly.
