i am running a msi k7t pro2a mobo with atholon 800 and ati rage 128 vid card all jpeg photos look like they a grid on them "dots and lines"
have tried 3 vid cards all with same results any help would be app.

Well if it is just JPEG it may be somthing got corrupted with your video drivers. I am assumeing all three cards you tried are the same card so try reinstalling the LATEST ati drivers for the card. I fyou have tried tree different cards with the same problem you computer must have grimlins in it (j/k)😉

Did you try taking a know excellent bmp or gif and converting it to jpg yourself? Also, did you try 16 bit color? You really don't need 32 bit color unless you're doing graphics work.

Try changing to 16bit colour.
What program are you using to view your jpg's
Have you tried viewing a known good quality jpg

Try this small program - IrfanView

when pictures are on my home page and they are jpeg they have a grid look to them. when i download pic from my dig cam and covert them to jpeg same thing happens to photos.
yes i have tried 3 different vid cards with same results

ttt

Do jpegs from other web sites look alright. That is, is it only jpegs on your hdd and your home page that are mucked up?

I've never seen this sort of problem before. But if your system is sending valid jpg files to Excite for your home page but you can't see them properly than it's a display problem rather than rendering. Also you are getting bad results in IExplorer and whatever software you use to view your dig cam pics -- so it doesn't sound like an image viewing software problem. You tried 3 different vid cards so it is not a bad vid card.

That pretty much leaves a problem with a vid card driver. Follow Smoke2jj's advise. That's my guess. But don't forget to uninstall your old drivers before reinstalling the new.
