Joseph Campbell and the Power of Myth

gopunk

anybody else seen this thing on PBS? it's old, i know... but i saw it for the first time last night and found it very interesting. got a little religious, but i still think i agree with the basics of what he was saying...

i've seen it too. not in it's entirety, but most of it.

i found it quite interesting too. I saw it during the Big Apple Anime Fest. The things campbell talked about had many corrolations in anime. The situations in which hero's become hero's and such.

Great stuff.
I took a college class on it, and it was one of the most interesting and informative class I remember taking.

Oh crap! This means Gopunk and I were doing the same thing at the same time in the same county.

Very important stuff in my opinion. Wish more people took looking into what it means to be human a bit more seriously.

Right up my ally. Joseph Campbell and Carl Jung are 2 of my heroes...

When you think about it, everything is just a repeat of the same themes that came before, just modified a bit. Once you learn to recognise the patterns, you have the key to greater happiness if you choose it.

cool! good to hear other people enjoyed the program... it's the only one that's ever made me even consider donating to pbs... still didn't though... 75 bucks is steep. maybe if they had something for 25-50.
