While I have various disagreements with Paul's positions, I take them as differences in opinion rather than evidence of a lack of intellect on his part. So I'm curious, who in congress would the people calling Paul stupid say is considerably more intelligent than him?

of the ones i know (just going off the senate) feingold, schumer, lugar; i've been impressed with both klobuchar and conrad although conrad is pissing me off lately. vitter and a couple of others are supposed to be intelligent as well though i see no evidence of it

lets put it another way, congress is full of people with graduate and professional degrees often at elite universities, ron paul is pretty average. Combine that with the level of insanity and un-reality that he advocates, i don't think there is much to use to consider him intelligent, other than the letters after his name. (m.d.)

I get the impression you are simply invoking lack of intellect to explain differences in opinion here, and demeaning him on such a flimsy basis. If we could give our congress a pop quiz on current events, history, or perhaps have them take the ACT, I'd bet Paul would come out better than most.
