A large portion of services PP provides is contraception. Take that away you get more unplanned pregnancies resulting in more abortions. Since that is the #1 issue of your side you should give your money to PP.

If they could promise me my money wouldn't be used for abortions I might. But they can't, so I won't.. and I don't want my tax money going to them either.

Another example of why politicians are never held accountable. Built into the system is the ability to lie on the floor of the Senate and then have the lie removed. Amazing.


That's just the circus. Bottom line they might as well be rock stars or professional athletes and are almost never held accountable no matter what. Cheat on their wives and they might be held accountable, but never for acting like two faced back stabbing lawyers. That's what they are hired for, that's what we have, and that's why the country is such a mess.

Kind of ironic because you guys have a bug is your ass about PP defunding them would result in more of the very thing that's your #1 issue.

Of course, by "defense" the founding fathers meant American armed forces stationed all over the globe, invading sovereign nations and installing governments.

It goes both ways. What about the recent comments to the effect that Republicans just want people to die if they don't support Obamacare?

Anyway, this reminds of a recent article I read in the Seattle Times:

A Congress consumed by taunting
Two researchers, one from Harvard and one from Stanford, have concluded in a study that members of Congress spend a "jarring and surprising" 27 percent of their time simply insulting their colleagues. Is this bad?

He opens his mouth. They all lie...not one side more than the other.

Just e-mail the Senate moderator and tell him to make posts uneditable.
Pretty much every forum that promotes honest, sincere debate does this.
Seriously, it's not that hard....

Honestly who gives a f--k. Planned Parenthood if its so critical to women's health should have no problem receiving private donations to fund its operations. I don't think tax money should be going to them, especially since we have Obamacare coming which will fix the issue of women not being able to afford healthcare should it not? Or was that an even bigger lie on OBAMA's part? Lets get the record on what was said when Obamacare was being negotiated.. oh wait, we CAN'T..

I guess its important to have a record of what a single senator says about PP but not important to have a record of a healthcare bill that spends 100's of billions.

Are you just jealous 'cause your mother didn't take advantage of the PP services herself? :p

Funny how the only example I've seen cited for Democrats in a while is the one about Republicans on healthcare.

Funny thing is, it's not the best example anyway - it has too much truth to it.

The phrase 'they just want you to' has different meanings. One is something they actively, directly desire, as in 'the scammer only wants your money'.

That's not the definition here. A second one is, 'they leave you no alternative', as in, 'the bank who won't give you more time just wants you to be homeless'.

That's not a direct desire - no one at the bank wakes up and says they want to do that to you - but it means that they indirectly want it, by wanting something more than what would prevent it, that they lack care for the consequences of something they want to do.

That's the way it's used. They're saying that Republicans are opposing public healthcare to the point it will kill people. That they lack enough concern.

Now, the Republicans could defend their position, that you can't give everything to everyone, if it were the case they're opposing some unaffordable amount.

But that's not the case; Democrats would be happy to have that debate and prove it wrong if they did.

Rather, Republicans are simply pursuing an ideology of plutocracy, our of prioritizing the wealthy over everyone else - and it will indeed kill people.

Many Republicans are not understanding the consequences - but don't appear to care when they're pointed out. If that's the best you have, as they say...

They did not. They also didnt want us involved with alliances. Our founding fathers are rolling in their graves at what we have become.

Never heard a Senator or Congressman speak without having stated the following:

"reserve the right to revise and extend my remarks"

I have noticed this too. Although I do believe that it has its purpose to add in additional information when debate time is short, it should not, under any circumstances, be used to remove or delete anything from the record. If a statement is made on the floor, no matter how stupid, it should be there for posterity to see.
