It goes both ways. What about the recent comments to the effect that Republicans just want people to die if they don't support Obamacare?
Anyway, this reminds of a recent article I read in the Seattle Times:
A Congress consumed by taunting
Two researchers, one from Harvard and one from Stanford, have concluded in a study that members of Congress spend a "jarring and surprising" 27 percent of their time simply insulting their colleagues. Is this bad?

It goes both ways, but far from equally.
Funny how the only example I've seen cited for Democrats in a while is the one about Republicans on healthcare.
Funny thing is, it's not the best example anyway - it has too much truth to it.
The phrase 'they just want you to' has different meanings. One is something they actively, directly desire, as in 'the scammer only wants your money'.
That's not the definition here. A second one is, 'they leave you no alternative', as in, 'the bank who won't give you more time just wants you to be homeless'.
That's not a direct desire - no one at the bank wakes up and says they want to do that to you - but it means that they indirectly want it, by wanting something more than what would prevent it, that they lack care for the consequences of something they want to do.
That's the way it's used. They're saying that Republicans are opposing public healthcare to the point it will kill people. That they lack enough concern.
Now, the Republicans could defend their position, that you can't give everything to everyone, if it were the case they're opposing some unaffordable amount.
But that's not the case; Democrats would be happy to have that debate and prove it wrong if they did.
Rather, Republicans are simply pursuing an ideology of plutocracy, our of prioritizing the wealthy over everyone else - and it will indeed kill people.
Many Republicans are not understanding the consequences - but don't appear to care when they're pointed out. If that's the best you have, as they say...
