I post at both frequently.

Everyone at FW says everyone at AT is cruel and not noob friendly (which pretty much somes up most of us ATOT assholes)
Everyone here says everyone at FW is whiny, and that also pretty much sums up their whiny OT cliques and their overly frugal hot deals people.

Fact is, the seed that became fatwallet came from the AT hot deals forum.
So one of the greatest deal sites out there (if not THE greatest) came to be because of Anandtech - which is the greatest tech site.

Not really...he's a good guy/poster in that he posts a lot of deals and tries to help people out, but a significant amount of his 'deals' are just sales/clearances/whatever (nothing special) that you can find at any website for yourself. A lot of people probably find that annoying or think of it as nothing special.

I think it's at least good that he tries to contribute to the Hot Deals forums and it's not like none of his posts are any good.

the point is not how worthy his deals are....rather the lack of tact.

jokersmoker is contributing to the community, while know-it-alls from the sideline just throw out criticism (not you, rabidmongoose, but i've seen lots of thread crappers on AT and FW).

these forums are what they are today BECAUSE of people like Jokersmoker. if there were more "annoyed people who think of it as nothing special" the forums would be worthless.

if you don't like the deal, or it's not beneficial to you....just move on. odds are, it's helping someone.

JS originally got his "The Man" custom title in FW after some ass tried calling him out back in the day. He had a ton of supporters back then and still does today... just a few asses on FW ruining it for the bunch.
