I called the store, and they confirmed it was a 'joke' in the newsletter, not real.

Edit: I find the 'joke' offensive, not in the sense I would if it were a real story, but just in the sense that I try to spend money cosnsitent with supporting liberals and not the right.

So to the extent that the 'joke' is sending an anti-Obama political message, I'm offended by it as supporting the immoral side of our political system, but that's all.

If the owner were a right-winger, I'd tend to avoid buying from him.

To be honest, while when hiring for others, politics are irrelevant, if hiring for a franchise like that, I'd be inclined to employ liberals over right-wing people, if that was known.

That is a controversial position, but I think there's an argument for it - and not the other direction - based on the rightness of the liberal position.

I do understand that most are more comfortable with insisting politics not be a factor. They have that right, and I have mine to think that they're not supporting right causes enough.

How did they get drawn into political bashing?!

That's not right.

I've never been to a Chick-Fil-A, and this is somewhat off topic, but here it is anyway:

The election has been over for a few months, everyone knows Obama is the president now, how about taking that Obama/Biden sticker off your freakin car, OK?- end of rant.

Chic-Fil-A is a good company, they are always helping out in the community and supporting school- age kids and their programs (soccor, bands, whatever). Don't bash 'em please.

This manager is an a-hole to think that's acceptable. I don't trust his judgement on ANYTHING now, much less my food. I certainly will tell people to avoid that restaurant like the plague.

And I'm not being an Obama fanboy... Our local Dairy Queen is run buy a guy who constantly leave FISCALLY right wing messages around his restaurant. I don't have a problem with that.. It's America, and he can say what he likes... But to even joke to your employees that you'd FIRE them for a political bumper sticker is being a ... evil shithead? Yeah.. That's about right...

peopel should be told to avoid anything you post!! There is no explaining your ineptness and gullibility!! Then you wait to see how the reaction is going to be and you post excuses to try to make it look like you didn`t fall for this hook line and sinker.

God I Love it when OP`s do the self ownage thingee!!

No. Actually, I don't have one, but I like seeing them, they're a reminder of people expressing their support on the ongoing political orientation in our country.

The OP said he thinks that an owner joking to his employees about laying them off based on supporting Obama is wrong. The owner did make that joke.

You seem like the confused one.

You are criticizing him as gullible, but you do so even after he says his comments are whether it was a joke or not, so it's a prety weak attack.

Nah... he won't do that. He can't leave his little Utopian bubble. There might be some nasty "right winger" working at a store he might go to. Imagine the mess they'd have to clean up when his head explodes...

And somehwere out there I strongly suspect the Rush-bots and the O'Reily-bots and the Hannity-bots and the Rove-bots and the Palin-bots and the Coulter-bots have pasted that now renown piece of neocon gospel into their scrapbooks of revered talking points and Swift Boat truisms, so it can be remembered and used as inspirational propagan- uhhh, oh yeah, as inspirational words of wisdom to drive that Commie bastard Socialist Muslim Kenyan-born foreigner Hussein Obama out of office.

I'd bet good money there are still more "W" stickers riding around than Obama ones.

I doubt that... Even in the Republican stronghold state of IN, I can barely find a W sticker. During the election, there we 20 Obama yard signs for every McCain...

Not as many as I used to, but I still see the Bush/Cheney ones. A week agao, I saw a Viva Bush.
There is a car that I see when dropping off my kids to school. It has a bumper sticker that reads "Palin Power". And quite a few McCain/Palin.
