joining txt files?

have 4 *.txt files that are a million lines each (record lenght is about 260 bytes) that I need to consolidate into a single file...

each file is about 80 MB...

what is the easiest way to concatenate these files together?

is there a maximum size for a text file?

If they are pure ascii text;
For Windows boxes - use the DOS function to copy/append the files together.
For nx boxes, use the built in concatination function.
