I joined the UFC gym today and had my 1st workout. I was pretty comfortable with all the equipment at my old gym so my routine was pretty easy for me. But they have so many things here I've never touched. I don't know everything they have off the top of my head, but think normal gym and here's the stuff I can remember that wasn't at my old gym:

rowing machines
cross country skiing machines
Jabob's Ladder - UGH
big ass tires to flip over.
2 sets of big ass ropes tied to a wall and you whip them up and down fast/high as you can. Dunno what they call these, but it's damn brutal from my 60 seconds of use lol.
Biodensity machines
bag room
spin bikes
I didn't see it, but I believe they have that rope climbing machine too.

At my old gym I'd hop on the treadmill for a bit then hit the free weights. This gym's probably 15x the size. I tried out every one of the machines I listed except the Biodensity ones (they had 3 different ones) as these have to be turned on and monitored by a trainer or something. I got on the rowing machine, Jacob's Ladder and did some skiing and my body's wtf right now. They also have some weird new machines for weights I've never seen. Don't remember the name, but one you sit straight up and it has a place to put your feet and you do cable curls. As I pulled up it moves, sort of like a crunch. Somehow your body weight plays into it. Instead of #'s the plates were labeled 1-16. And it gave estimates for what each = to in lbs based off a body weight of 150lbs.

They offer personal training, but it's expensive and I just blew what free money I had on signing up. So I wouldn't have the spare cash for that for awhile. I'm planing on going back tomorrow but I'm sort of clueless what's a good routine using all the equipment they have. Also where a good starting place with the rowing? I did 1,000m than about 30 minutes later 500, both times it had my heart rate up in the 180'ish range. Seems to me like if I go at a normal pace even 5 minutes would really work me over. I'm not really use to cardio machines that have such a quick impact.

My goals are drop some body fat, put on some muscle and get my cardio up. I don't think it's possible but I'd love to at least try to get where I could do 5,000m on the rowing machine at 100%.
