*-Join TAS - TeAm AnandTech's RallyTeAm-*

Page 7 - Seeking answers? Join the AnandTech community: where nearly half-a-million members share solutions and discuss the latest tech.

Welcome to TAS - *TA Sentinel*
Thanx to all who have joined up to make this possible! Together we WILL make a difference!

The main goals of TAS will be to

1. Increase TeAm AnandTech's participation and production in projects.
2. Introduce people to projects they're not so familiar with.
3. Have LOTS of fun!
4. Establish TeAm AnandTech as a major player in all that is DC.

We'll do this by movin between projects, participating in each for 4 weeks at a time. After starting each new project, the next upcoming project is voted for by TAS members and added to the Rally Schedule.

This RallyTeAm is known as "TA Sentinel", but members will crunch under their own individual names.
We hope to keep this as exciting as possible and to bring the TeAm even closer together!
This can only be accomplished if there's enough interest and support.

Wolfsraider has setup a great forum where we'll post projects info and setup instructions found here: http://tas.reddeyexpress.com/forums/ 😉 Mike also setup a great new site for TAS found here: http://tas.reddeyexpress.com/ 😀

Jened, I think the SETI talk is just for a new member seeking guidance. 😉

The TAS TeAm is doing TSC, but it's still every person's own choice if they want to put 100 or 1 of their machines towards TAS. Of course the more the better for TeAm AnandTech...😀

What he said.
I have around 60 machines running seti
5 machines running FaD
10 or 12 machines running TSC
2 machines running Lifemapper (Only on part-time)
1 machine running D2OL ( Only on part-time)
And some other members of the RA are running Folding At Home and seti as well.

It is a fun way to crunch toward a common goal.A chance to learn how many of the projects work as well as get a knowledege in how each is set up (this helps on the forums as well since we can provide better answers to questions)

Many projects are undermanned or have low participation, We run these projects for a month at a time to give them a boost. It sorta lets us say thank you to its members for their dedication and hard work as well it lets them know they are not alone in their struggles.

So what do you say? sound like something you might be intrested in helping?

To join the team in seti for BOINC, goto http://setiweb.ssl.berkeley.ed...splay.php?teamid=30191
and hit "join this team". 🙂
Note, you'll not show up on the team-list before you've got any credit.

Since was part of beta I guess you knows to setup client and similar, but if not just ask. 😉

BTW, v4.05 has some bugs so especially if you're running win9x download a later version from alpha.
http://setiboincdata.ssl.berke...7_windows_intelx86.exe
http://setiboincdata.ssl.berke...8_windows_intelx86.exe

Special note, v4.08 appears to "hang" while uploading/downloading wu, and uses nearly 100%-cpu-power. Don't kill it with task-manager, since will continue working without any other problems then done downloading, but if you're using dial-up I'll recommend using v4.07 instead.

Berkeley has been very stable the last couple of days, but till they're sure the Snap-box is working correctly the database is still I/O-bound so recommends having another project to fall back on. One trick is to run latest version of seti-driver at lowest possible priority, by this method BOINC will crunch if there's work to get, and "classic" will get the rest. Another method is to share with CPDN.
http://climateapps2.oucs.ox.ac...m_display.php?teamid=4
Note, win9x & NT4 doesn't work correctly in CPDN.

Oh, and welcome to the team. 😎

Hey guys! Yeah, after reading the TAS forums for a while I decided to register. My main problem these days is that I only have my single one laptop computer with my and my fleet is back home and doing nothing!! :| That makes me somewhat really mad! But hey, at least my laptop is crunching 18 hours a day on FaD.
