If you were rich and have $2 million in gold that probably means you had $3 to $4 million in gold not too long ago, haha. Keep flushing that money down the toilet.

As for Chris Kyle, he seems to have been a genuine war hero. He was also a fairly big liar, so it's hard to know exactly what's true.

Yeah, the irony of his claims is that, if everything he wrote about were true, he would have been imprisoned for murder.

Your reputation as forum asshole is well deserved I see. But to answer your question, I'll wager a guess a say your attempt to clarify was due to the previous descriptive fail mixed with some ignorance of military history. That and you're an asshole, which we've already covered.

Make you a deal: you take your own ironic advice, and I won't bother replying to any more of your posts. Win win.

Edit: But thanks for the thread though, seriously. Just ordered Johnny's book.

Oh waaa, waaa, waaa. Doesn't like my opinion and stoops to calling people assholes. Just STFU buddy! You have no clue!

JediYoda is that you?

No, I don't like ignorance delivered with a self-righteous attitude. It's entirely possible to discuss this topic without being a dick, but you have other ideas.

If you take exception to a reputation you've created here, my advice is to not feed that perception by proving it accurate. Now take your own advice, or I doubt my ignore list will be the last one you're added to.

Toodles sunshine, and good luck getting smarter.

Bottom line it looks like a 9/11 truther got his $1.8mm of "justice"...and who gives a fuck about Kyle's widow and 2 children any way? Jesse Ventura...a true man of honor!

Phylicia Rashad said Cosby is a great guy and all his accusers are liars. She might be right, but that one opinion doesn't make it true. I'm thinking the same here about Kyle, this guy might be right, but there are a lot more people saying otherwise.

Agreed 100%. We may never know.

There will always be something unpopular this day and age if it ties to war, even if the story is about one of the most heroic soldiers of our time.

If the Chris Kyle story is true. He was certainly a "Legend" and I think to a certain extent common sense confirms his story. There appear to be a lot people alive that confirm his heroism. He was the number one target by the enemy. The way he died while trying to help a fellow soldier. Observing the reaction that he had to the people around him is a fairly convincing form of validation.

Shouldn't make shit up and open yourself up to these lawsuits.....a true man of honor wouldn't do that.

I guess he should have thought of that before he died and burdened his widow and children with enormous debt to restore Jesse Ventura's $1.8M worth of "honor". Kyle may have lied...but, make no mistake, the real scumbag here is Jesse Ventura. An honorable man would have dropped the suit when Kyle died.

Its not may have lied, he did lie. If he didn't want to burden his wife and children maybe he shouldn't have been such a asshole.

How many soldiers lives do you think the average A-10 or Apache gunship pilot has saved, if you're going to draw an indirect link between killing insurgents and saving soldier's lives?

The MoH is about personal sacrifice and heroism in the face of certain death.
This. An online petition demanding the awarding of The Medal without quoting a specific instance is simply a sick, sad joke. Being very good at a military MOS is grounds for many medals, but not THE Medal. There is a reason most awardings are posthumous; the Medal of Honor is for deeds the recipient has no reasonable expectation of surviving.

Kind of tells you all you need to know about Texas, doesn't it?

Surprised all the patriots in Texas and on this site aren't decrying taking such an action for someone who claimed to have executed American citizens on American soil with no due process of any kind.

Looters are "thugs" and therefore deemed to not be real Americans....

At least that is how the "patriots" can reconcile it in their own minds.

Why? When somebody dies, all responsibility for their actions go away? That is some pretty weak logic. A drunken driver kills your entire family but is killed himself..... an honorable man would not sue the estate of the drunk?

Kyle and the book publisher pushed the Ventura lies to increase sales and to put more money in their pockets. They profited from their lies. They had no right to profit from lies that tarnish another person. If nothing else this puts other sleazy people from attempting the same kind of slimy crap.

In my opinion, a man of honor would have dropped the suit when Kyle died or at least refused the monetary judgement against his surviving family when his reputation was cleared by the court. But hey, that's just me and my twisted definition of honor.
