Johnny Walker has a few words for Chris Kyle bashers

One of the repeated allegations made against legendary Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle is that he was “racist” because he referred to radical Islamic militants in Iraq as “savages.” Just on Tuesday, MSNBC’s foreign correspondent claimed that “some” people believe Kyle was open about his “racist tendencies” as he went on “killing sprees” while serving in Iraq.
But on Friday, IJReview reportedly spoke to “Johnny Walker,” who apparently worked with Navy SEALs, including Kyle, as an interpreter. The self-described “Iraqi Muslim” hit back strongly against claims that Kyle was a “racist” hellbent on killing Iraqis.
Walker claimed Kyle once told him that he trusted him with his life and later invited him to one of his book signings in La Jolla, an affluent suburb of San Diego.

I just wonder if CNN, MSNBC, CBS, PBS will report this? I won't hold my breath. :colbert:

There's a petition to give Chris Kyle the Medal Of Honor. https://petitions.whitehouse.gov/pe...r-his-ultimate-sacrifice-our-country/YVRMwR73

Also, theblaze? Buy Gold!

The Blaze was posting from IJreview. can't click a link?

If I were rich I would have at least 2 million in solid gold. The dollar won't be worth anything with inflation and one day even the rich will be poor. :colbert: :awe:

I've never heard anything, even from Chris Kyle's own disproved exaggerations, that warrant the MoH.

Use your head. I wasn't referring to body count, but it relates to soldiers that may have died from that body count, i.e elimination of that threat which could have killed soldiers. Why do I always have to explain set on the Internet. FUCK! 😡

MoH ain't about body count.

You never heard he saved a lot of soldiers lives? I mean the man had 160 confirmed kills.

How many soldiers lives do you think the average A-10 or Apache gunship pilot has saved, if you're going to draw an indirect link between killing insurgents and saving soldier's lives?

The MoH is about personal sacrifice and heroism in the face of certain death.

Your reputation as forum asshole is well deserved I see. But to answer your question, I'll wager a guess a say your attempt to clarify was due to the previous descriptive fail mixed with some ignorance of military history. That and you're an asshole, which we've already covered.

Make you a deal: you take your own ironic advice, and I won't bother replying to any more of your posts. Win win.

Edit: But thanks for the thread though, seriously. Just ordered Johnny's book.

A Medal of Honor is earned through heroic acts of bravery (arguably insanity because those recipients all did things that by all rights should have winded up with them dead, and in many cases has) in which the recipient "distinguished himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty."

Some examples are

Jumping on a grenade to shield nearby comrades from the blast... just about always fatal from the accounts I've read.

Running into a hail of gunfire from the enemy to drag comrades, who otherwise would have most assuredly died, from the field of battle.

afaik Chris Kyle while he has done his duty while in the field as a sniper hasn't done anything that fits this description "distinguished himself conspicuously by gallantry and intrepidity at the risk of his life above and beyond the call of duty."

.....

No MOH, but also no posthumous bashing either.
War = killing, the killer is the politician who starts the war, not the soldier doing what he got to do to protect himself and fellow soldiers once the war has been started.

Fuck Ayman Mohyeldin.

Islamic militants are savages. How many people do they need to behead, how many innocent people do they need to gun down/execute. Then again I think Ayman Mohyeldin has a grudge because he deep down supports those extremists who Kyle took out before they had a chance to take out our own soldiers. Which explains why he refers to Kyle's accomplishment as a sniper as a "killing spree" because this asshole wants to breed sympathy for the fuckers who were gunning for U.S. soldiers.

Yea, gunning down innocent people and torturing them is America's job. How dare they step in.

I find it laughable that the texas governor is declaring feb 2 Chris Kyle Day.

This whole thing has become a huge joke. All of it is why people make fun of America, honestly. A person can't even say something negative without a bunch of jingoists shitting down their neck, like they have the most fragile self-esteems ever. Michael moore for example, who cares what he said? Worship of the US military has reached a paradoxical state.

Image over substance.

As all Empires eventually adopt as their modus operandi.

Empire sure is expensive.

I don't see what the big deal is with the use of "savages." You have to dehumanize your enemy to be able to more easily do your job as a soldier. Happens in every war: "Charlie", "Kraut", "Japs", etc. It is part of being in the military. The military isn't some politically correct circle jerk whose members politely discuss the social struggles of the local populace while sniping their soldiers through the heart.

If you were rich and have $2 million in gold that probably means you had $3 to $4 million in gold not too long ago, haha. Keep flushing that money down the toilet.

As for Chris Kyle, he seems to have been a genuine war hero. He was also a fairly big liar, so it's hard to know exactly what's true.

I tend to agree with that view, and see this whole issue as really just a bunch of people confusing cause with race. Their distaste over a portrayal of the realities of modern urban warfare just invites them to seize on the 'good ol boy racist' from Texas stereotype, a guy who likely sees himself as guided to kill brown people. Even though Kyle repeatedly cited the acts of terror, torture and murder committed by his adversaries as grounds for his cause and involvement, and backed that view up with his praise and loyalty regarding Walker, a person he should hate according to his detractors.

Putting hairs on a guys shirt button instead of the middle of his mustache is as much as a coping mechanism for dealing with uncomfortably intimate views as it is for developing center mass preference, which increases odds and speed of hitting vitals during rapid engagement of multiple targets. If tactics are altered to help the shooter out, of course language and mindset will be as well. People not getting that do not a racist make, but it's easy to pull the race card when people hear 'savage' with a Texas drawl.

Phylicia Rashad said Cosby is a great guy and all his accusers are liars. She might be right, but that one opinion doesn't make it true. I'm thinking the same here about Kyle, this guy might be right, but there are a lot more people saying otherwise.

Agreed 100%. We may never know.
