I love Johnny Walker Blue because of it's smoky taste. Just add an ice cube.
Then i discovered the poor man's johnny walker blue called island green.
Almost as smoky but at a fraction of Blue's price.

this is different that johnny walker green.
island green hard to find in America.

I wanted Jack + coke zero at a bar overseas.
they didnt have Jack and offered jim beam.

then i saw they had island green.
i figured i'll try it with coke zero since i was set on a drink with coke zero.
i LOVE it. it has a great unique taste.

i'm back in America and at a friend's place.
he didnt have bourbon but had johnny walker red.
tried it with coke zero and it tastes the same as if it was the more expensive island green.

no more going out of my way to get island green.
johnny walker red is easier to find and cheaper.
win/win

I've never been a big fan of Red, but yeah, scotch and Coke definitely tastes different than bourbon and Coke. I'm not surprised there isn't a big flavor difference between the Island Green and the Red once you mix it with Coke though.

Wasting good ..or even passably decent blended scotch by mixing it with soda pop.

Water, ice, or even club soda...maybe, but sweetened sugar water? Never.

I usually drink it straight, but every once in a blue moon I will mix it with some cola. Usually on a hot day.

G&T on a hot day. It's pretty much the only mixed drink I'll drink.

never would have thought Red as having the same flavor profile as island green when mixed with coke zero because non-smoky taste.

just as jim beam/coke zero taste diff than jack/coke zero.
