Johnnie Walker label level for a job well done?

I'm shooting these short films mostly for fun/experience and the camera guy (a volunteer) went above and beyond on our last shoot. All of us are doing this for fun, but I'd like to show some appreciation. I asked him what he drinks and he mentioned johnny walker - what level's not an insult (red label) but also not creepy/over the top (blue label). I'm not a rich dude but he did give up 12 hours of his weekend for my passion project.

I usually go with Black Label or Double Black unless it's a REALLY big favor.

Then I go for a bottle of Dom instead 🙂

Mix it up on him. Buy a bottle of Caol Ila Single Malt 12 Year. It's the main scotch used in making JW and is a great smokey drink. You can usually get it around $50 a bottle.

If a guy likes Jonnie Walker (Black for example) giving him something more on the peaty side is kind of a dick move. JB Black is a mellow blend that's rather...uninteresting.

Let people expand their scotch pallet on their own terms. Don't thank them with something you like, especially if you what *they* like.

Just my $.02

That's good advice. Give the guy a gift of something you know he likes.

Nah, my mom sends gift baskets to people all the time. It's just a nice thing to do.

Settling with double black, I'm no high roller and even that comes out to $60 delivered here in NY.

You're ordering it online? Are you not 21 and able to walk into a liquor store and just buy a bottle?

Maybe it's cheaper for him? Or it's more convenient for him? Why don't you ask the same question to everyone who shops online instead of brick and mortar?
