Yes, but back in the day, decent shot blockers would be able to get the ball out to one of their own, not just slam it out of bounds and posture like idiots as so many of them do today. I would guess it only truly prevents a basket about 60-70% of the time, which is good, but still, so many of those are not even going to get close to going in.

Understood. But you have to understand the mental aspect of it. But a PG blocking shots like that aren't going to happen at the college level.

Fingolfin - college isn't NBA, it's a different game.

From what I've read, his jump shot is the weakest part of his game. However, under Calipari's offense, you might not ever notice.

we'll find out eventually if he has a jump shot

I don't think it will matter. A good jump shot is something anyone can learn. It just takes practice and good form. I've seen lots of players come into the league with horrible jumpers and become great shooters later on.

14 assists, 19 turnovers against ranked opponents is a concern.

C A R D S

Agressive play. Beat said ranked opponents on the way to a 9 - 0 for the first time since 1993 and Wall leading the way.

Maybe. Edit my last post to 10-0 after a 17 point ass kicking of Indiana at Bloomington! :D

Calipari ties Rupp for best start under a new coach at Kentucky at 10-0. Also, at 1,998 wins, now just two short of 2KUK or UK2K depending on how you like it! :D

PS: Remember, the game is in Rupp this year.

By the way, Wall had 11 points, 8 assists, 7 rebounds and 1 turnover today in a hostile Indiana arena.

It doesn't really matter because he is one and done in college. #1 draft pick in the NBA next year. The NBA needs to make it two years or do away with their one year rule.

By the way spidey, you guys forgot to play Western Carolina to win first!

I and about 350 (or so) other teams would love to be in the position to run him for a year! ;)

You folks are talking about him like he's pro. He's got plenty of time to work his game before he does it for a living!

The rest of the season. Wall will be the #1 pick in the draft unless he stays in college.

I don't think there is a chance the Nba can raise the age limit to 20. The players association will never allow it, and if an nba-bound kid wants to avoid the ncaa scam, he should have the right to. Not to mention it would see even more kids going oversees to play in the interim, like Brandon Jennings, who btw is kicking @ss this year in his first year back from europe and currently on the Bucks.

Lebron: He'll be a #1 pick

He's Kentucky's top star and go-to guy, and is shooting a ridiculous 56% from the field (including only 35% 3's). He can pass the ball with 7 apg's and is just one of those kids who's got a pro-level game already.

/edited: As for comparative level of play, Kentucky is 10-0 and currently ranked 4th in the nation.

The NBA could pass the rule, who knows. The NFL rules has stood up, 3 years after you gradeuate high school. The only exception to the NFL rule I remember was Larry Fitzgerald who was 2.5 years removed from high school.

The NBA should make it two or zero, one is a so-so novelty.

Uh, Kentucky is 10-0 and just beat then #8 North Carolina last Saturday and #12 (#14 in other poll) UConn at Madison Square Garden on Wednesday night. Looks like ranked teams to me! ;)
