INSTANT CLASSIC. 🙂

I'm inclined to write something to the effect of "This is a prime example of why it would be smart to have a mixture of younger politicians in office", but that would be disrespecting the older people who actually have a good understanding of current technology.

That said, ANY young kid graduating with an EE degree could do the job better than Ted Stevens.

Yeah, this was pretty good. Unfortunately, the situation is so pathetically sad. We're fvcked if this retard is who is in charge of regulation.

I wouldn't call him a retard. C'mon, he's a nice old man. Just look at that picture of him smiling. That's when I felt bad for him. True, he has no idea what he's talking about, but I blame the people who put him of charge of what he commands, not himself. He's probably doing the best he can.

corruption at its finest.

blasting the lotto ball through the pipe was classic. Stewart is really in a league of his own right now, definetly at the top of his game.

Yeah, be he stills tries to pretend that he knows what he's talking about. This is like putting Homer Simpson in the control room of a nuclear power plant.
How hard is it to just be honest and say you don't know anything about it? Then suggest to put somebody else in charge?
I'll admit that I don't pay attention to who's where and who's doing what. So I don't how he got in that position to begin with. But this is just ridiculous.

This is both funny and scary at the same time

Funny stuff. But I just have to be a dick here for a second:

My old grade school teacher used to be lenient with spelling, unless we misspelled a word that was already written on the test. For example, if the question was "Who were the Minute Men?" and you wrote "The Minnet Min were..." then you were marked wrong, because you couldn't even spell a word correctly when the word was written right in front of you.

That said, you linked to a video called "Jon Stewart..." and titled it "John Stewart..."

😉

[/anal-retentive ninnying]

And in response....

In response...a broken link? Cool!

I'm not a "spell nazi," but you can spell a word correctly when it's right in front of you, can't you? It's like failing the test with the answer key on your desk. 😉

I'm guessing a teacher of yours lectured you about this recently because you wont STFU about it.
Before I go any further I'd like to give you a little insight.
Some people don't care.
Sometimes people make mistakes.
Some people have no other ways to get their jollies off other than correcting peoples' mistakes.
Some people are brilliantly talented while some can only embrace a few things they know about such as spelling words correctly that have allready been printed in plain sight.
Some people revel in their own 'awesomeness' of being able to correct somebody elses mistakes while those who are brilliantly talented can shrug it off because they have stuff involving 'real life' to deal with.

So just get over yourself. Someday maybe you won't have to narrow your mind down to such trivial little things because you'll have something called a brain instead of an E-penis.

Are you seriously implying that you are "brilliantly talented"?

No, but I think one should assume it's possible before pointing out every little mistake somebody makes.

*cat screech*

I'm just giving him a hard time, man. A friendly ribbing, if you will. Nothing to get all defensive over. 🙂 I like to think that I, like you or the OP, indeed have a brain and some degree of talent. But here's something else I have: a sense of humor. Best of luck in finding yours.

edit-I also have a certain degree of humility, in that I have the ability to say "whoops" and correct a mistake I've made when someone points it out. I suppose others choose to get all pissy about it. To each his own.

I can't believe that the words I am typing are going through tubes and will end up on this page! That is awesome. I hope no poker chips block my words. That would suck and then I'd have to play the lottery. Not good at all. Damn internets.

his team of writers probably contributed to that segment. they're pretty smart people. in fact, so is stewart. he's not your everyday comedian.

I'm betting he knows more about it than the idiots in Congress that are debating the subject and actually have the power to screw with it. Hell your average 6th grader probably has a better grasp of it than Stevens.

Ah so someone's nice smile is what makes them a good person?
No one forced him into the position he is in. He can easily decline it, as he doesn't know two shits about his job. That's like if someone wanted you to be the director of the medical board, and you accepted the position, knowing that you know about as much medicine as joe sixpack. You would be a fvcking moron. Ted Stevens is a fvcking moron.. there is no one to blame but him.

I'm amazed that someone always says this. Can't you recognize something stupid, even if you're not an expert in that field? If someone says "transmitting AIDS is possible through visual contact with an infected person" couldn't you tell that person that they're an idiot? Are you a doctor?
