I'd say this literally explains why more than 90% of America hates Congress so much. But it amazes me the most that a lot of Congressmen have to spend their time and careers literally begging for money just to keep their jobs, or to get anything done within the Legislature.

The solution IMO is limitations on elections. Say, for instance, that commercials, promotions, and fundraisers may only be done in the 2 months prior to an election. Obviously, this dampens the amount of money one can spend given the timeframe.

You can also put more rules in, such as only allowing a certain amount of time during TV that a candidate may have an advertisement in order to allow equal viewing for all participants.

That would also help us voters keep sane from having to see the same stupid shit 20 times a day.

Perhaps. Money corrupts democracy. Honestly, I think that we need to go a step further and ban political TV/radio advertising altogether in favor of having broadcast networks show regularly scheduled debates during prime time X weeks before an election as part of their broadcast license requirements. Candidates and serving politicians should be completely banned from soliciting donations anywhere, anytime. That is what a campaign organization/party is for.
