I think Alan Cranston agreed to take the blunt of the Senate Ethics Committee because he was leaving anyhow. The Keating five were got to by Keating and the big luxuary gizmo is in Phoenix.. But, Keating got caught up in the S & L issue along with all the rest.. it was the way of the day.. the Senators got caught up in the $ for their coffers.. IMO
