Yawp...but don't think that the Anti-American, pro-whichever flavor of the week seems to hate us at the moment bandwagon won't roll through with new ammo (and apologies) within the next day or two ;)

[Edit] Just making sure my double negatives match up :)

Just wait until the terrorists start bombing your igloos in Iceland. Don't come crying to us when that happens.

So anyhow, the article mentions terrorism and says terrorism sucks...and again, I'll ask the 2-part question (and probably get ignored)

(1) How can you justify terrorism?
(2) I'm guessing your answer to number 1 won't really be an answer but rather something along the lines of "Uh...well, you see...uh...Israel does bad stuff too! Like occupying Palestinian cities!" Fair enough...so what alternative strategy does Israel take--keeping in mind that there's suicide bombers coming after them at random times...

<< I believe it is now time to explore ways in which they can live apart. It is time to consider alternatives such as that proposed by former Prime Minister Barak--to erect a security barrier between the Israelis and the Palestinians. >>

I agree. The only way such a barrier can be erected is for Israel to withdraw from the west bank and to close their settlements in the occupied territory. Once that is accomplished a Buffer Zone manned by UN Troops should be set up between Palestine and Israel Without the closing of the Israel Settlements it would be impossible to set up a Buffer Zone unless Israel would agree to abandon those settlers, which of course they'd never do.

As usual, John McCain see things with the clearity that we need from a Leader of our country.

It'll cost more to send army there, so Czar should be safe....until Bin Laden need a base in Europe and find out how much of a wuss these Icelanders are :p

John McCain is a really mixed bag. He sometimes seems more like a celebrity than a leader, to me. His favorite issues are "campaign finance reform" and the so-called "gun show loophole". WTF? Nevertheless, I do admire him was a war hero.

The Israelis see Jerusalem as their most holy spot. The Arabs see it as their second most holy spot. Neither is going to give it up anytime soon.

The Israelis have proposed joint administration of Jerusalem. The Arabs have turned that down.

That's fine. I asked that question of Czar because his response was posted two minutes after i started this thread, thus my asking of the question. Even if he was a speed reader, that's an awfully quick read of the article. If you did read it and reached that conclusion, then that's not a problem.

Would such an agreement include something signed by the surrounding Arab countries saying Israel has a right to exist as well as a clause stating the consequences should that right to exist be challenged?

Uhoh... so far for France! ;)

Anyway, I don't like the way the article (as usual) ignores the atrocities Israel committed and still commits. I'd say: close off the country, cut off all communications, and a few years from now we check who is alive still.

<< The Israelis see Jerusalem as their most holy spot. The Arabs see it as their second most holy spot. Neither is going to give it up anytime soon. >>

It's up to Israel to retreat from Jerusalem as it was never part of Israeli nation created in 1948. We and the world community should insist on it. Any way, how holy a spot can it be if it costs thousands of deaths , which is what isa going to happen if thissituation isn't resolved.

Look Israel wants security, well for security they need to comprime somewhat. Jeruselam and the West Bank wasn't part of the UN created Israel (neither was the Golan Hieghts) With UN Troops as a buffer this should go a long ways in helping stop the suicide bombers too (of course there will be those that sneak in) In turn all Palestinians who are not Israeli citizens must leave Israel. They along wiht the Israeli settlers should be compensated for lost property and relocation from a fund set up by the UN for them

There will be armed UN Troops to insure that they do plus they won't have the Soviet Union supporting them Militarily.

Then we march on Bagdhad and string Hussien up by his raisins
