Wow! nice find.

I respect JohnLeCarre immensely, and his novels are always examples of good mainstream literature. The guy is very perceptive. And the reactions to his writing are predictable...

I'm glad you said that. Keeps me from having to read it since I know anything you recommend is utter crap.

So it's ok to kill people whom you don't agree with but you are against abortion? Typical Fund A Mental Case Hypocrit!

shinerburke,

you just won another recommendation ... That you should be considered a responsible adult!

Thus, please refrain from addressing to me in the future, edit your posts accordingly and beware of personal attacks.

Hi, do you overeact sometimes out of frustration? Are all of your thoughts translated into actions? Mine certainly aren't.

Get Bent Red Dawn.
Does that mean you wish I would get killed too?

As I see by the comments above. Some like to blindly play "follow the leader" no matter where it leads.

It's good to see LeCarre can still write fiction but I see he still hasn't lost his style of being over-dramatic.

Beware of personal attacks? Ohhhh I said your opinion didn't matter to me......boy...what an attack. You want to talk attacks let's talk about what you PM'd me. Does this look familiar?

"Dear sir"

Please see my edited post and act accordingly from now on.

There's a fine line between personal views (something even you should be able to grasp as a concept, even if you don't agree with my ideas) and insults.

Your post is too close to the latter for comfort.

I suggest you cool down, or I will ask the moderators to sanction your behaviour.

If you want to resort to name-calling, find another direction.

This is my first and last personal message on the subject. I apologize if it has inconvenienced you.

Good day.

Now who is threatining/attacking whom? Hmmm? Ohh...you're going to report me to the mods because I said your opinion was crap. My, my, my... Like I said when I PM'd you back....you need to grow some thicker skin. Worse than what I said is posted here all the time. My advice? Don't play in the fire if you don't want to get burned.

Ah, shall we also dig up all the articles which stated how wrong we were and how many casualties we would have in the first Gulf conflict and in Afghanistan? How the first Gulf conflict was going to cause mass upheaval in the mid east and oil prices of $5 a gallon? How us going into Afghanistan was going to cause the 3rd world war?

Come on, this drivel is produced for every conflict. Has always been and will always be! What's funny is, it may never even happen! I'm beginning to believe now, as of results from the past few days, Saddam is going to be gone of his own accord and the UN will be going in as a security force and to assure all WMD's are destroyed as well as to help setup a new government!;) I'm tellin' ya' look for it boys!

A recent poll tells us that one in two Americans now believe Saddam was responsible for the attack on the World Trade Centre.

Anybody got a link to a newstory about this?

LOL! WTF does that have to do with anything? The fact is, there are ALWAYS detractors/fanatics to every and any military conflict.

And as long as you brought it up, Vietnam was a case of non-commital pure and simple. Our guys didn't have/receive what they needed when they needed it.

Militarily the Vietnam war was won. The politicians, thanks LBJ you idiot, lost that war.

I think that a war fought in another country should have the support of the people you are supposedly fighting for...
