John Kerry promises to break his promises

Democrat John Kerry said Wednesday if he is elected president he will not let government programs outside of security and education grow beyond the rate of inflation, even if it means cutting some of his own campaign promises and existing government programs.

It does make you wonder how much longer till he promises to break this promise.

I applaud his sensibilities. Kerry realizes the budget deficits are HUGE and it's time to reign them in. Bush doesn't give a damn.

Wow he came out and said he would break his own promises, must be the first politician that admitted thats what they mostly do when they get in office. Makes me like the guy more, not sure if I would vote for him though.

Sounds good to me. Education and security are pretty much the only things that need serious work. We gotta start cutting something otherwise the nations youth are going to be totally screwed down the line.

I don't care for Bush or Kerry. Since Bush got us into a war, and Kerry didn't, I will be putting in my vote for Kerry. If he screws up, then I'll rant on him. Putting Bush back in without the spectre of re-election to worry about? Nope, I'll pass on that possibility.

I think I'll take the possibility of fiscal responsibility over the alternative that the Bush administration offers; An ever growing deficit with no plan whatsoever to curb it.

I dont believe it John "im for universal health care" kerry. He talks the talk but the fact is NO ONE is going to be able to get rid of our deficit with any governement social programs in place. He wont cut his social programs, all he is doing is lying. But he WILL raise taxes. Alan greenspan already said to cut social security , but i doubt any politican will. We need a president (republican or democrat) that isnt full of political BS. But none will run, its sad

Seriously. Bush's administration seriously scares me. When I originally voted for him in 2000 I thought "What harm could this baffoon do?" I guess I found out. I smell a possible impending draft, the June iraq deadline being thrown out indefinately, an ever overstretched military, rolling back of personal freedoms by John Asscrotch, national debt spiraling out of control, and possibly another poorly conceived war along the lines of Iran or some other middle eastern country that further damages our world standing and threatens to turn our allies into enemies. Those things seem outlandish even to me, but so did a lot of stuff that has ACTUALLY happened already.

It really does scare me. His administration is everything thats wrong with the republican party IMO. And I'm probably more republican than democrat!

Its not that none will run, its just that none who have principals can make it to the top. Mud is usually slung onto any candidate who's true before he can even get a start in the primaries. All that is left is the underhanded ones, and the public gets to choose between two greaseballs. They vote against whichever one they hate most. Its sad.

He's only been in freakin' Congress for the last 10+ years!! When he was running around over the winter promising more gov't handouts to everyone (which he now realizes he can't deliver), he was either woefully naive and uninformed, or just flat-out lying. But I don't expect you apologists to discuss that.
