Bluefront why are you attacking a president who is dead? You have no knowledge or prescription drugs, so stick you head back into the sand and keep being a tool.

Uh no. When you are on those medications, you are on addict. 3-4 of them were highly addictive. Ritalin, is also, addictive if abused(doubt he abused it). If he was on codine, methadone, and demoral for more than 6 months he was surely a addict, but back in those days, they really didnt know any better. Its kinda like my grandfather, started taking codine for knee pain in the '50s, hes still taking it. If JFK hadnt of been shot, he wouldnt have made it to 60 years of age. He had way to many medical problems/addictions.

Its pointless to bash JFK for it, today we know these drugs are highly addictive, back then, they werent controlled substances. Its pointless to bash Bush for allegedly doing cocaine in his 20s/early 30s.

False statements abound in your paragraph. Codeine, methadone, and demerol are addictive drugs, but people who are in severe pain WILL more than likely use them for more than 6 months. This hardly makes JFK an addict.

You give a bad name to all Conservatives and Republicans because you are one of the stupidest individual who frequent these boards. You say that it is hard to believe anyone could walk or talk when taking those drugs. Do you know the dosage? What about the Contraindications of all those drugs? Since you don't have a fscking clue about anything you are posting, shut the hell up and take your trash someplace else.

Evan, do you actually believe that Bluefront is one of the stupidest individuals who frequent this Forum? I mean take a look around, this place in the home of idiots and to say he is the most clueless of them all is really giving him a unique distinction.

By today's medical standards, not during the 1950's and 60's. Physicians routinely prescribed combinations of narcotics which would not be prescribed today except for very ill people. Kennedy had a lot of health problems which were not well understood in 1950's, and would today be treated more effectively.

Addison's disease, while not itself fatal, can be nonetheless as debilitating, and anyone who has experienced a collapsed or ruptured disc knows that narcotics are the only thing which can touch severe lower back pain.

To say that Kennedy was a drug addict, implying that he had some choice in all of this, is about as disgracefully mean-spirited as making fun of Reagan because he doesn't recognize his own children.

Well put, and a smart and well-thought-out post.

I can't believe this sh1t. We should really think about digging up McCarthy.

Why not? JFK's little bro was McCarthy's right hand man and largest supporter.

President John Kennedy, #1 hero-icon to the Democrats, to the liberals

What makes you think this little world in your head has any semblance to reality?

Did you hear this from Rush today? He was talking a whole bunch of sh!t. Come on Rush, I want to hear about Bush's cocaine (sp) addiction. Oh forgot, this is acceptable behavior for Republicans .

He is in my top 5 now. Kennedy wasn't my favorite president, but to attack him for actual medical problems is absurd. Maybe I should say he seems like an idiot to me. 😉

He's not worthy to be called an idiot.

and, boy, thats saying something...

Sorry I rattled some chains here, but I think most of you have missed the whole point. I certainly am not gleeful over someone's physical pain.....but I am certain the drug cocktail he was being fed had an adverse effect on his abilities to run the office of the presidency. And I at the same time wonder if he was not in complete control, who was? Those were dangerous times, and having a man in charge of the US military who was not even in control of himself, could have led to a complete disaster.
No doctor today would attempt to treat anyone with such a drug mixture; because it happened forty years ago, doesn't change anything.

I'd say the US was damn lucky we didn't end up in WWIII, with a country being run by a president with a severe drug addiction.

methadone is basically Heroin.

Maybe we should forgo the use of pain killers and anestethics from now on. Let's start next time Cheney has a stroke and needs surgery.

I just stated a fact, not how we should respond to it.
If any thing, we should realize that a methadone addict could run the country.
I lean towards legalizing drugs.

uh huh... missing the point? when you start a post with #1 hero of democrats /liberals etc u are going on a stupid rant, not making a point.

stop listening to rush, it isnt healthy for anyone.

maybe its time to mention kennedy was a war hero, unlike cheney/bush and other conservative hawks(rush limbaugh-who had a butt pimple) who weaseled their way out of service.

Didn't Bush Lite serve in the Coast Guard or the National Guard (one of those two)?
