so now that he ran for VP and lost, (confirmed by kerry phoning and conceding to bush just a few min ago.) and that NC's senate election came in and a republican won, is it safe to say that he is jobless right now?

Bowles lost due to Clinton. WJC is an incredible albatross for southern candidates. You cannot run as a moderate Democrat in the South. You have to run as a moderate Republican that happens to be a registered Democrat.
