so now that he ran for VP and lost, (confirmed by kerry phoning and conceding to bush just a few min ago.) and that NC's senate election came in and a republican won, is it safe to say that he is jobless right now?

Yes, and he's a multi-millionaire.

He is indeed without work. I wouldn't worry too much about him, given his relatively vast wealth. He could join just about any law firm in America as a partner, or serve as a board member for a company or companies.

not only did he not win the vice pres. office, he helped open the door for another republican by leaving his seat...like a double whammy.

He never planned to run for a second term. He stated from the very beginning six years ago that he would be a one term senator.

I'm sure he is disappointed that Bowles lost, but his running for VP did not necessarily open the door for the Republicans. The seat was already up for grabs.

He can simply find a doctor to sue. I think there are still some women in North Carolina having vaginal births. Don't those doctors know that increases the risk of cerebal palsy? Time to sue!

Your sig sux. Bush is your President, like it or not.

If you are a American, Bush is your president, if you dont like it, then leave.

And you wish this country was divided, but Americans unite when times are tough.

We'll see how many Americans unite behind Bush and whatever he wants to do. The election would seem to suggest a great number of people don't think he's the man for the job, I have a hard time thinking a ton of them will say "Oh, well he won, guess he can do whatever he wants, I'm for that!"

When you don't like someone and don't vote them into office, why would you want to listen to them?

I'm an American, no he isn't, and no.

Umm, times are tough? Seems to me that about 28 Million people didn't care for him.

I hate to spil your moron moment but the majority of Edwards' millions came from non-CP cases. My wife just had a NVB . . . and as a fellow physician I was watching like a hawk.

Bowles lost due to Clinton. WJC is an incredible albatross for southern candidates. You cannot run as a moderate Democrat in the South. You have to run as a moderate Republican that happens to be a registered Democrat. Anyway, Bowles got pummeled by outside groups and Burr commercials that all used some derivative of Bowles=Clinton.

Our other senator (Libby Dole) even ran an add talking about how mean old Erskine had called her names during the previous campaign. In combination with an outright lying ad about breast cancer research, Burr cobbled together enough female votes to beat Bowles.

IIRC, the re-elected Democratic governor only had ONE joint appearance with Bowles. Neither had public appearances with Kerry. Even during Edwards' joint event with Bowles they didn't appear on the stage together.

The take home is that the GOP had a nice alliterative team Bush, Ballantine (governor), Burr. The Democrats, per norm, never even attempted to play together. The primary reason the GOP didn't get a hat-trick is the sheer sliminess of Patrick Ballantine was beyond tolerability. Plus he was running against a guy that had cut the state budget, decreased corporate taxes, and fiercely lobbied for corporate subsidies.
